Opening The Way, presented by Women's eNews: Financial District Women's History Tour
1 - 2 hours

Encounter Women’s history in the Financial District in a totally new way – through an interactive walking tour with your cell phone as your guide.
Explore New York through the eyes and experiences of pioneer writers, agitators, abolitionists, suffragists and those we now call activists, as well as three heroes who gave their lives on September 11, 2001. Opening the Way combines the fun of a scavenger hunt with the sights and history of women’s lives in the New York to immerse you in a unique and informative experience:
- Receive “challenges” on your mobile phone through text messages
- Explore the Financial District to complete them
- Learn interesting facts about women’s lives in New York as you go
- Start when you want and go at your own pace
In this interactive tour you'll not only discover hidden corners of lower Manhattan but feel the impact of women's lives over the last three centuries and absorb a sense of the world in which they worked and made themselves heard above the roar of the City.
