Stray Boots Launches Interactive Way to Explore Harlem

The company is partnering with Harlem One Stop, an organization that promotes the celebration and development of Upper Manhattan, and New York Pass to help promote the tour. The creation of their Harlem tour marks the company’s 11th tour in New York City and 16th overall.
As one of the most culturally significant and historic neighborhoods in New York City, the Harlem tour is great for armchair historians, architecture buffs, and just about anyone who wants to get to know New York better, while also having tons of fun. A few highlights include the famous Apollo Theater, Sylvia’s Restaurant, quirky shops along 125th Street, and beautiful churches and brownstones all over the neighborhood.
Stray Boots began showing people around the Empire City with New York: The Game in 2009, initially offering interactive tours of areas like Greenwich Village and 5th Avenue. In The Game, customers receive challenges via text message that take them to interesting places around their chosen neighborhood, teaching them fun facts about the location as they go. Unlike normal scavenger hunts, the experience teaches you about the area as you go, so which is why Stray Boots dubs it a “scavenger hunt tour.”
The Harlem Game Zone is currently being offered as a free tour with the purchase of a New York Pass (www.newyorkpass.com). Tickets can also be purchased on the New York: The Game website (www.newyorkthegame.com) for a Spring Sale price of $10 per ticket. Players can begin at any time by simply activating their phone via text message.
Stray Boots also recently expanded beyond the Big Apple with its recent launches of Las Vegas: The Game in February 2011 and Boston: The Game in late March. Both games are spinoffs of New York: The Game and work in a similar fashion.
